Emily Eschner
Program Director
PATH, Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor & Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, PATH Ambassador for Region 1, CT & RI
Emily was born and raised in Bristol where her passion for horses began at the age of 5. She was an active member of the Mad River Pony Club for many years and learned many horsemanship skills along the way. Emily has ridden competitively over the last 15 years throughout New England in recognized USEA horse trials and dressage competitions. In the summer of 2017, she completed an intensive Instructor Training Course and earned her PATH, Intl. Certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. She is EAGALA Certified as an Equine Specialist, and in 2023 became certified as an Equine Facilitator. As the Program Director at Shepard Meadows, Emily is fortunate to meet and get to know all of our participants and their families and to share her passion with them. While she still teaches many lessons throughout the week, she also enjoys the program development at the center.
