Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

Research demonstrates that teaching horsemanship skills can promote emotional and social well-being in participants, serve as character education, and promote the social skills and leadership of youth.

Equine Facilitation & Retreats

Shepard Meadows has the facility and certified staff available to support your organizational or business/corporate retreat; with full day and half day options.

Our programs are open to all members of the community, whether you are looking for general horsemanship classes, or horseback riding lessons. 

Equine Gestalt Coaching

Equine Gestalt Coaching is offered in small groups, individually or both. Equine Gestalt Coaching combines the power of Gestalt in partnership with horses.

Boarding

We offer (retirement) boarding for horses on a limited basis. Board includes paddock, shed, hay, feed and water. Owners permitted to visit and/or ride outside of program times either on the trail or in the rings.

Hippotherapy

Hippotherapy is a form of physical, occupational or speech therapy in which a therapist uses the characteristic movements of a horse to provide carefully graded motor and sensory input.

Mounted horseback riding for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of people with special needs through the teaching of horsemanship skills.

The combined collaboration with horses, a licensed therapist, and an equine specialist working with individuals to address various individual psychotherapy goals.

We provide both mounted and unmounted horsemanship programs physical, emotional, social, recreational and educational gains for veterans and their families.
